AGX Dynamics and MakeReal3D   V3.0 assists product R&D of AVIC

VR technology has been out and popular for a quite long time, mostly used in gaming, marketing and exhibiting. With help from AGX Dynamics, MakeReal3D v3.0, the next generation of VR simulation platform, explored VR application into a whole new field of industry and manufacturing, especially in virtual assembling/disassembling simulation.

Beijing Longtek Technology Co., Ltd., has won the fierce market competition and became a provider of VR simulation system of AVIC, Aviation Industry Corporation of China. It is known that aircraft is the most advanced modern outcome, integrating basic science, technology, industry and manufacturing into one product. Applying VR technology in aviation is not only demonstrating how the plane looks like, but also verifying deeply into the workflow of styling, CAD/CAE simulation and assembling/disassembling procedure. For instance, when CAD design is ready, it needs to validate the assembling procedure—how to assemble all units in a particular order into one assembled component, if the designated assembling space is left enough for workers to do the job and etc.

AGX Dynamics, performing a high-fidelity physics simulation, helps MakeReal3D v3.0 and its customers to carry out workflow verification in VR simulation. The assembling part will collide with all other parts (rigid bodies and cables) like in the real world, performing a more realistic simulation. One part will not interfere with another one—what you see is what you feel. That’s a next generation VR simulation specialized in industry and manufacturing application.

The collaboration of Algoryx and Longtek makes us strongly believe that VR technology will play an increasingly important role in the development of aviation products in the future.
